This formal traditional naval dinner will commemorate the arrival of HMCS RAINBOW in Esquimalt on 7 November 1910, the first ship in the Royal Canadian Navy to serve on the west coast.
During dinner, a brief history of HMCS RAINBOW will be given, and following dinner, Bob McDonald, the presenter and writer of CBC Quirks & Quarks, will speak – the actual topic is yet to be finalized. During both the reception and dinner, Tom Vickery will be the pianist. Tom was a member of several CF Bands, retiring as Band Master at Royal Roads, and for several years, pianist at the Empress Tearoom and Hermann’s Jazz Club in Victoria.
The cost for this gala event is $100 per person and limited to 100 dinners. To ensure your seats, tickets may be reserved now from Diana Dewar at firstname.lastname@example.org must paid for by 1 October 2018. This may be done at the June or September NAC-VI luncheon events or by cheque to NAC-VI and mailed to NAC-VI Treasurer, 1621 Barkley Place, North Saanich, BC V8L 5V6. Seating assignment will be by table only, but should you wish to sit with specific friends kindly indicate their names with your ticket request.
Dress for the occasion for gentlemen is mess dress/dinner jacket/lounge suit with medals and decorations.
