NOAC / AOMC Awards

Part 1 – Award Criteria

Gold Award

(Medallion)

The Gold Award may be awarded to any active member of the NAC with at least five years membership within the NAC. The award shall be nominated by a Branch President or current Director on the National Board and it will be subject to the recommendation of the Executive Committee and to the concurrence of the National Board.

The Gold Award recognizes exceptional and outstanding service to NAC and to Canada. This service must be of a nationally-recognized nature that brings credit to NAC as a whole

Usually, but not always, the recipient will have already received a Bronze and/or Silver award.

Silver Award

(Medallion)

The Silver Award may be awarded to any active member of the NAC with at least five years membership within the NAC. The award shall be nominated by a Branch President or current Director on the National Board and it will be subject to the recommendation of the Executive Committee and to the concurrence of the National Board.

The Silver Award recognizes outstanding service outside normal branch activities, either at the Branch, regional or national level.

Usually, but not always, the recipient will have already received a Bronze award.

Bronze Award

(Medallion)

The Silver Award may be awarded to any active member of the NAC with at least three years membership within the NAC. The award shall be nominated by a Branch President or Branch Director on the National Board, and it will be subject to the recommendation of the Executive Committee and to the concurrence of the National Board.

The Bronze Award recognizes outstanding service and activities by a member at the Branch level, reflecting either a particular initiative or long-time productive service.

Exceptional Service Award

(Certificate)

The intent of the Exceptional Service Award is to recognize those who have given exceptional service to NAC over an extended period of time, but where a medallion award is not merited. It shall be awarded on nomination by the Branch President or Branch Director, subject to the recommendation of the Executive Committee and to the concurrence of the National Board in plenary. The National President shall sign the certificate.

Long Service Award

(Certificate)

The intent of the Long Service Award is to recognize worthy individuals who are not eligible for any current awards but who, nevertheless, have provided strong support to a branch over a prolonged period of time. The Branch President is the authority who approves this award. He/she may request that the National President sign the certificate.

Certificate of Appreciation

(Certificate)

The intent of the Certificate of Appreciation is to express gratitude to individuals or groups who are not NAC members or, if an individual, who is a member but lacks the membership time requirement. The recipient individual or group will have strongly supported the furthering of NAC goals, either through a particular initiative or over a period of time. Nominations can be made by any current NAC member. If the support was of a Branch nature, the Branch President is the authority who approves the award. He/she may request the National President sign the certificate. If the support was directly to NAC National, then the National President is the authority who approves this award.

Presidential Recognition

(Letter)

In addition to the Awards and Certificates listed above, the president may at any time, at his sole discretion, recognize the service of any active or associate member by providing the member with a Presidential Letter of Recognition, in any form the President deems fit. This may be done on nomination to the President by any other active member of the NAC, by a Branch, or by the National Board or any current National Director
